Square Posts

  • Minimum resolution: 600 x 600 pixels

Landscape (Horizontal) Posts

Instagram Stories

  • Minimum resolution: 600 x 1067 pixels
  • Maximum video length: 15 seconds per segment

Stories disappear after 24 hours unless saved as highlights. Leave a safe zone of 250 pixels at top and bottom to avoid text/stickers being covered by profile information or call-to-action buttons.

  • Video length: Up to 90 seconds

Reels use the same dimensions as Stories but support longer video content and appear in the dedicated Reels tab and explore page.

IGTV Video

  • Cover photo: 420 x 654 pixels (1:1.55 ratio)
  • Video length: 1 minute to 60 minutes

IGTV is optimized for vertical viewing but also supports horizontal videos. Videos shorter than 10 minutes have a 650MB size limit; longer videos can be up to 3.6GB.
